Here's an example of a Health network that had experienced fraud and then started using VigilantPay to protect them from future risk.


This Health Network is a group of not-for-profit primary care-focused organisation managing the healthcare of nearly half a million people enrolled with dozens of practices across NZ.

This is the operational arm, the ‘engine room’ for the group, delivering PHO functions and supporting the day-to-day activity taking place in general practice. They also directly provide health services in the community to ensure people have their primary healthcare needs met.

In 2022 malicious actors hacked this client's Health Network IT system. The attacker took health information and some corporate information and it is understood to have affected a large quantity of patient records. Several key IT systems managed across this client's network were also brought to a standstill creating havoc for the daily operations of the regional clinics and medical centres in its care throughout NZ.

VigilantPay plays a pivotal role in this Healthcare’s Networks financial operations. Managing a high volume of payments, including payroll and creditor payments, the platform navigates the complexities associated with these transactions. During this particular cyber-attack, while other systems faltered, VigilantPay remained resilient and fully operational, ensuring the integrity of payments. This incident underscores VigilantPay’s robustness and its ability to safeguard against emerging business risks, making it a secure solution for today’s dynamic threat landscape.
